Rafee Ahmed, a mechanical demining team supervisor stands in a safe area in one of three minefields being cleared by the Khabat Zangana Company near Kalawy, in Iraqi-Kurdistan. The three minefields date back to the Iran-Iraq War when the Iranian Army occupied the area for an extended period of time. Two of the minefields were laid by the Iranians to protect their positions, with a third laid by Iraqi forces.
